Why We Created Skilloon

Skilloon was born out of a simple but powerful idea—to make learning soccer fun again. As former professional and Division 1 college players and coaches, we saw firsthand how the traditional soccer ball actually works against early childhood development. It’s too heavy, too hard, and drops too fast for young kids who are still building balance, coordination, and motor control. Instead of inspiring passion, it often creates frustration—or even fear of the ball. We wanted to fix that. So we designed Skilloon: a lightweight, floating “balloon ball” that grows with the player. As kids improve, they can increase the weight and speed to match their developing skills and confidence. It’s not just play—it’s the perfect bridge between fun and fundamentals.
